Join Argyll based artist and weaver Louise Oppenheimer at Auchindrain Museum and learn to weave or develop your weaving skills in an exclusive workshop in a historic setting. Louise is renowned for making various sizes of hangings, using wool weft on cotton warp. Louise’s work tries to explore ways to define her joy of living and she says that she “tries to draw and weave slowly, enjoying the textures and techniques in a similar way to the anticipation of a good meal. None of the work is meticulously planned as ideas blossom in response to the natural environment, hopefully reflecting my happiness to be here in Argyll”.
