Auchindrain Museum Videos
In June 2008 Auchindrain Museum hosted a four day ‘Living History’ event. Visitors were invited to participate with local craftsmen and artists who provided demonstrations and hands on classes which included spinning, weaving, ‘plowing’, Gaelic waulking, basket making, gardening and storytelling. Of course the Clydesdale horses, courtesy of Skernish Farm, were a big hit as so were our resident highland cows, courtesy of Duncan Crawford.
We created a Gaelic version of the Living History video naming it ‘EACHDRAIDH BEÒ’ which translated means living history as in history that has been made alive. A special thanks to Ruth Nicdhòmhnaill (translated Macdonald) of Skye who was kind enough to provide her Gaelic help as well as her voice for this project.
Alan Baird of Furnace created this Auchindrain video as part of the Forargyll team. He included the nearby waterfalls to share a part of his Argyll most don’t get the opportunity to see.
