Ruins (Buildings S, T & U)
Longhouse Ruin (Building S)
To the right of Building R (Museum Office) are the ruins of Building S. Building S was a tenant farmer’s longhouse or byre dwelling consisting of a byre for the cattle, kitchen, dairy and parlour. The walls of Building S currently stand less than 1 Metre high but the plan of the house is still clearly visible.

The Campbell family, who moved to the nearby Township of Cove in the early 1880s, and to North America in 1821, occupied Building S in the 18th Century.
Behind Building S are the ruins of Buildings T and U.
Ruin (Building T)
The original function of Building T is unknown. The building has two north/south aligned internal walls, the most eastern of which has a slight return that was added at a later stage to create a three-celled structure. At this stage the building was probably used as either a stable or an animal shelter.
Ruin (Building U)
Building U appears to be associated with Buildings S and T. It is likely that Building U was used as an animal shelter.
